Love Connection Pillow Cases

How did you choose your shop name?
"My kids definitely inspired me to go the custom and personalized route- always asking for their name on this or that, so I "custom" had to somehow be in my company name since it represented what I did at the time, (custom designs). I chose "sentiments" since I started out doing wall quotes and I had always called them "wall sentiments". I guess the two words together just made the perfect pair."

Endless Love Personalized Anniversary Print

Why did you choose to make/sell what you do?
"I have 3 kids- all girls and they love all things girly, pink and monogrammed! They were always asking me to personalize this and that for them- water bottles, lunch boxes, backpacks and of course their lockers at school were the coolest on the "block". It was hard to find personalized childrens items then and once I started personalizing things, it got addicting. Now EVERYTHING in my shop or on my website (thousands of items) are all personalized items so anyone can find the perfect personalized gift for anyone on their list- guys, girls, young or young at heart."

Custom Whiskey Barrels

What inspires the designs/creations you make?
"I would have to say my 3 beautiful girls and all that surrounds me. My oldest daughter and I do "walking photography", where we pick a spot, (near or far away) and just walk and take pictures of anything that catches our eye. I then use those photographs to create pallets of color and let the colors and shapes guide me with my designs."

Lovebirds Wall Decal

What new designs/creations would you like to add to your shop in the future?
"I currently have hundreds of designs that are not yet on my websites or in my shop. I am adding new designs and products all the time. Every single week there is something new. I'm still in the process of merging all of my old sites into one big one and doing both wholesale and retail, it is taking some time. Check back often, as there will always be new finds to catch your eye!"

Since it's February, I asked the shops to share their favorite love story movies.
"What dreams may come. I love movies with depth and full of emotion so they are not just something you watch, but feel a part of and there is nothing that compares to this movie. It's got happy, sad, romance, loss and is all about how far one man will go to be reunited with his family. This movie is so unique and is not your typical love story but is one of the strongest and most interesting films I have seen. If you want a movie that will truly leave you feeling appreciative of the love you have and remind you not to take it for granted, this one is for you."

Night 5 ~ Warm Bodies

Tagline ~ He's still dead but he's getting warmer.
There's nothing hotter than a girl with brains.

Songs from the movie playing on the Jukebox...
 *Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison.

Directed by Jonathan Levine (50/50, The Wackness and All The Boys Love Mandy Lane) and released on February 1, 2013 by Summit Entertainment (Rated PG-13). Julie (Teresa Palmer) lives in a world where the human race must deal with the walking dead. But never did she expect that she would end up connecting with a Zombie (Nicholas Hoult) much less falling in love with him. Can love really conquer all? Even that whole living dead thing?

I had my doubts about this movie and was in no hurry to see it. But when it showed up on one of my cable channels I thought why not give it a try. Expecting to roll my eyes a lot and be in pain watching it I was pleasantly surprised when it ended up being a rather sweet movie.

In a genre that has been way overdone it is hard to find a Zombie movie that is enjoyable to watch. The makers of this movie took the tired themes of the Zombie genre and thought outside the box a bit. I enjoyed the idea that Zombies who were more recently made still held on to some of their human thoughts and feelings even if they could not quite remember how they fit. The longer they exist as Zombies the less they remember until their humanity is completely gone. And the reason as to why they eat brains. Not just because it is icky to watch but because they can absorb some of that persons memories and feel them for a short while. A way to feel human if even for a short time.

Maybe the idea that the Zombies might be able to be turned back to human all because of love may be a bit on the syrupy sweet side but you know what, it worked. I actually really liked the idea that the humanity from the living could bring back the humanity in the living dead. It may be a little sappy but it is the whole "be good to each other" way of thinking that was a nice message to the movie. Maybe I was just in a feel good mood. But, like the Beatles sang, all you need is love.

If you like your Zombies down and dirty and by the book, with lots of gory greatness, then this is not your movie. Keep right on walking. But if you are open to a something different in this genre, and a bit of a romantic, give this one a try. And if you do not do Zombies at all do not be afraid to give this one a try. The Zombies are not scary and the movie has a very low gore factor. It really is more of a love story/comedy.

Right now you can find Warm Bodies on Netflix DVD, along with most other online sites to rent, and on HBO.

Take a look at the original trailer.

Some trivia about the movie.
1. The actors portraying the zombies in this film chose not to blink. It was particularly uncomfortable for Nicholas Hoult who did a few long scenes without blinking. Later in the film (when the zombies become more human), the zombies start blinking.
2. The story is based loosely on "Romeo and Juliet". "R" = "Romeo"; "Julie" = "Juliet; "Perry" = "Paris"; "M/Marcus" = "Mercutio"; "Nora" = Juliet's "Nurse" (the character of Nora is also a nurse).

  4. I haven't seen Warm Bodies yet, and I wondered how they would deal with the no blinking, which is made a huge deal of in the book. Now, I must see it! Oh, and What Dreams May Come is one of my favorite movies of all times. It's always leaves teary-eyed and full of hope. ♥

  9. My best friend, since high school, made me watch this a few months ago... It is definitely not a zombie kind of zombie film. I can't say I 'liked' it, 'cause the whole idea of it creeps me out, to the 'quivery' point. I mean really Eeeeeew. However, it was 'cute', so I also can't say that I 'disliked' it. Definitely a film that qualifies as 'fringe', in my book.
