How did you choose your shop name?
Free Heart Necklace, Hand drawn |
Why did you choose to make/sell what you do?
"I started making jewelry a few years ago, in 2011. I ordered some necklace supplies and began experimenting. After about a year of making necklaces as gifts, my friends encouraged me to sell them online."
Henna Swan Greeting Card |
What inspires the designs/creations you make?
"My artwork gives me a chance to connect with individuals I wouldn't normally interact with everyday. I love creating and keeping my mind focused through jewelry making. I keep in mind that with each piece I work on, someone will own, appreciate, and take care of the jewelry. I feel a sense of connection through the transference of a simple object."

Since it's Christmas, I asked the shops to share their favorite holiday movie.
"When I was younger my siblings and I would always watch Disney movies on
Christmas day, because our grandmother always gave us a new Disney
movie every year. We would spend hours watching our movie collection. I
always remember watching A Christmas Story on Christmas too. I'm not
sure if this is even a disney movie, but I must have seen it a dozen
times!"
For a little holiday fun, I asked the shops to share with us some of their favorite recipes and craft how to's.
"I made these one year for the holidays and they are to die for! Plus if you're not that great at baking, they're a no-bake recipe!"
Cookie Dough Truffles
(credit to the food network)
Makes: 5 dozen truffles
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup semisweet mini chocolate morsels
1 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)
1 1/2 pounds chocolate bark candy coating, melted
Directions:
In a large bowl cream butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer at medium speed until creamy. Add vanilla. Gradually beat in flour and add milk. Add chocolate morsels and pecans, mixing well. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on waxed paper; chill 2 hours.
*Note: Since the dough is sticky, roll your fingers into flour. This will make it easier to roll.
Melt chocolate bark candy coating in a double boiler. Using 2 forks, dip cookie balls into candy coating to cover. Place on waxed paper and chill to set. Store in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
