Valentine's Day Locket  $54

How did you choose your shop name?
"My shop name came from the fabulous ladies in my book club. I called upon them for some creative assistance. I wanted something fun vintagesque with a little retro appeal while giving a nod to my day of the dead yen. :)"

Valentine's Day Pink Ladies Earrings  $59

Why did you choose to make/sell what you do?
"I have a degree in Jewelry Design and I've been making jewelry since I was 10 years old when I started my first business selling bracelets to the kids in my school. I had a baby 1 year ago and took a break from my career. I needed something to keep my creativity flowing and a personal focus while being a stay at home mom. Before you knew it I was making and selling jewelry to my friends and they suggested I start an Etsy store, and voila!"

Mega Day Of The Dead Bracelet  $85

What inspires the designs/creations you make?
"All things colorful, vintage, retro and fun. I have a special love for Mexican Folk Art and Day of the Dead, the flowers, colors; it is all so vibrant."

Since it's Valentine's Day I had to ask the shops to share their favorite love story movies.
" Trite as it may be, "Sweet Home Alabama" is one of my top ten favorite current day movie. Josh Lucas completely makes me swoon in this movie, with his piercing blue eyes and smouldering passion. Whew! What a hottie!"

"If we are talking old movies, I think "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" is pretty special. I have a soft spot for Rex Harrison. Who knew he could be sexy. His undying loyalty and ornery ways are charming. The house and location are pretty fabulous too! It is always a must to watch along with "How to Marry a Millionaire" and "Pin Up Girl" Who doesn't want to be Betty Grable!"

 Night 12 - Indian Summer

Tagline - A Comedy About Eight Friends Who Return
To The Best Summer Of Their Lives!

Directed by Mike Bender (The Upside of Anger and Reign Over Me) and released on April 23, 1993 by Touchstone Pictures (rated PG-13). 8 friends reunite at the camp they spent their summers at. Old friends are found, old loves are relived and new adventures await.

I went to see this movie, with my sister, in the theater when it was new. It ended up being one of our most loved movies. It's funny to the point where we are about crying we are laughing so hard. I love all the camp pranks they play on the one poor guy. Maybe it looks fun because we never spent time at summer camps except for outdoor school in the sixth grade and as a counselor in high school. Can't imagine I would have enjoyed it back then but through this movie it looks so nostalgic.

This was also the first time I saw Bill Paxton do something other than the annoying A-hole role (Weird Science, Aliens, Near Dark) and just fell in love. He is still one of my favorite actors to watch.

And for any Evil Dead/Sam Raimi fans this is a must see! This movie is inspired by Sam Raimi and Mike Bender's real life summers spent at the real Camp Tamakwa. Sam is brilliant in the movie as the not so swift "Stick".

I could not find the trailer but here is the first 5 minutes so you can get a taste of it. And yes, it has Sam Raimi in it 8)

Some trivia about the movie...
1. The characters of Matt and Brad are based on the two Michigan-born founders of the Canadian clothing company Roots. They attended Tamakwa, which is a real camp in Ontario's Algonquin park.
2. One of the founders of the real Camp Tamakwa is Uncle Lou Handler, whom the character in the movie is named after.
3. Matt Craven plays one of the adults returning to summer camp, where they have such fond memories. Craven also played a CIT (counselor in training) in Meatballs (1979), another film about summer camp. Both films were shot in Canada.
4. Ashley Williams, who plays Ida Heinken in the flashback scenes, is the younger sister of Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who plays Gwen.
