Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt - Night 18
Our scavenger hunt will work like the game Clue this year. Every week you will be looking for clues to a different part of the mystery ~ Settings, Suspects, Rooms, Weapons and Escapes. They will be hidden within an item listing inside one of our participating shops. On each daily post you will be given a hint as to where the main clue is hiding. Once you find the clue go to the main Giveaway Post and find that night's entry on the Rafflecopter widget. You must leave the clue through the Rafflecopter! Do not post the clue anywhere on the blog. If you do it will be deleted and will not count. If you have any questions just ask.

Make sure to keep a list of all the clues as you collect them. On the last day of the giveaway you will be able to submit your guess of how the murder happened. Anyone who actually guesses correctly will win a Surprise Goodie Bag from Laughing Vixen Lounge. These goodie bags are made to suit your taste and usually end up being at least a $50 value! You can start the scavenger hunt game at anytime during the giveaway and go back to find past clues. Clues will stay posted through the entire giveaway.

Since it's Halloween I asked the shops to share their favorite spooky movie.
"For sheer wide-eyed, up-all-night terror, nothing spooked me quite as like Jacob’s Ladder, though Session 9 came awfully close."

Attack of the 31 Nights of Halloween Movie Marathon.
Follow along with us for a month full of classic and modern spooky movies. For something a little different this year we have decided to do themed weeks. Week 1 ~ Zombies, Week 2 ~ Werewolves and Vampires, Week 3 ~ Stephen King, Week 4 ~ Classic Double Features and Week 5 ~ Lounge Favorites.

On each daily post there will be a review of the next movie in our movie marathon. Leave a comment on each post with your opinion of that movie. On the last day of the giveaway you will find the Magic Phrase you will use to unlock the entry on the main Giveaway Post worth 10 entries. You must comment on each movie post to qualify.

Guess The Movie Game
This year we decided not to post the movie list in full so we can play a fun game instead. Each daily post will have a clue to the next night's movie. Leave your guess on the Rafflecopter widget, on the main Giveaway Post, for 1 entry in the giveaway. Please do not post guesses anywhere else on the blog or they will be deleted and not count.

**Guesses must be posted the same day as their clue to receive the entry** Rafflecopter runs on Eastern Standard Time. You can only post 1 guess per 24 hour period. So if you miss a day you can not make it up.

Tonight's Clue ~ When she loves a man no one will come between them!

Week 3 ~ Stephen King

Night 18 - The Mist

Tagline - Belief divides them, mystery surrounds them, but fear changes
              everything.

**Tonight's review is courtesy of Chandra from our featured shop Junkmill[Relics] and Junkmill.**

Directed by Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead) and released November 21, 2007 by Dimension Films (Rated R). Ensemble cast includes Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden and Laurie Holden.

Based on a Stephen King novella by the same name, The Mist centers on a group of ordinary people drawn together by very extraordinary circumstances. Following a freak lightning storm, a strange mist descends upon a small town in Maine, unleashing a horde of giant insect-like creatures. As the plague unfolds, a handful of local residents find themselves trapped in the local supermarket. Anyone who tries to leave is quickly met with a gruesome fate. Like other “people holed up in a makeshift bunker” movies (think Dawn of the Dead,2004, without the comedic kitsch overtones), personalities collide, tensions rise and drama ensues.

One of the best Stephen King film adaptations to date, The Mist is truly haunting. It stays with you, lingering long after the RedBox gobbles up the DVD. With a dramatic twist that rivals The Sixth Sense and Fight Club in its sheer intensity and ability to make you scream OMG! WTF!” at the screen, this classic thriller will leave you stunned, slack-jawed, horrified and ready to dissect the film’s minutia with anyone that will listen. But viewers don’t have to wait until the end for the big payoff.

From the strange alien insects to the hints at military experiments gone awry to the turmoil that unfolds between the small town denizens, The Mist is part monster movie, part suspense, part classic drama and thoroughly entertaining. As the trapped towns people discover that the strange creatures are feeding on humans and the horrors outside the supermarket take their psychological toll, the group splits. Following the lead of the local religious zealot, one side believes the creatures to be a divine sign, with human sacrifice the only way to appease an angry god. The other side, tempered by reason and a will to live, decide to find a way out. It’s one of those movies you pop into the Blu-ray on a lazy Sunday afternoon when you just want to get lost in the story, but even after the second, third and fourth viewings, the story stays with you.

Take a look at the original trailer.

Some trivia about the movie.
1. This is the third film Frank Darabont has adapted from Stephen King’s work. The other two are The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. He received Academy Award nominations for both.
2. Frank Darabont agreed to make the film with Dimension only under the condition that no matter what, they wouldnt change the scripted ending. They agreed.
3. During an action scene in the film, a man runs into a rotating wire bookshelf in the grocery store. If you look carefully, you can see that all the books on the shelf are written by Stephen King.
4. The pharmacy next to the Food House store is called “King’s Pharmacy,” most likely an homage to author Stephen King.
5. Despite the setting in Maine, the film was shot entirely in Minden, Louisiana. To Frank Darabont's delight, Stephen King could not distinguish it from Maine when watching the film.
