A certain percentage or dollar amount of each sale made through the participating shops, during the giveaway, will be donated to the charity of their choice. You will find each shops details on the main Giveaway Post and on their shop feature.
Laughing Vixen Lounge will be donating $1 from each item sold during October to Support Supernatural to help A Dog's Life Rescue. The amazing gals at Support Supernatural (as in the TV show) have been fundraising for A Dog's Life Rescue since 2009 and have raised over $100,000 to help animals in need.
Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt - Night 2
Our scavenger hunt will work like the game Clue this year. Every week you will be looking for clues to a different part of the mystery ~ Settings, Suspects, Rooms, Weapons and Escapes. They will be hidden within an item listing inside one of our participating shops. On each daily post you will be given a hint as to where the main clue is hiding. Once you find the clue go to the main Giveaway Post and find that night's entry on the Rafflecopter widget. You must leave the clue through the Rafflecopter! Do not post the clue anywhere on the blog. If you do it will be deleted and will not count. If you have any questions just ask.
Make sure to keep a list of all the clues as you collect them. On the last day of the giveaway you will be able to submit your guess of how the murder happened. Anyone who actually guesses correctly will win a Surprise Goodie Bag from Laughing Vixen Lounge. These goodie bags are made to suit your taste and usually end up being at least a $50 value! You can start the scavenger hunt game at anytime during the giveaway and go back to find past clues. Clues will stay posted through the entire giveaway.
Night 2
A murder has been committed!
This week you will be collecting clues to the setting of the crime.
Tonight's clue is hiding in Deep Midnight Perfume Oils.
Need a little help finding the clue? Sample the holiday.
Featured Shop - Deep Midnight Perfume Oil
Deep Midnight Perfume Oils is run by Cat from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her shop is filled with wonderful smelling perfumes.
Incantation Perfume Oil $15 |
How did you choose your shop name ?
"Deep Midnight refers to the darkest hour of the night...not true midnight. It's more around 1:30-2:30. It seems I am always up at this time like a good vampire."
Haunted Hayride Perfume Oil $15 |
Why did you choose to make/sell what you do?
"I love artisan perfumes and love creating them! I cannot wear alcohol/aerosol based products and I am also very allergic to a lot of chemicals. I started making perfume oils for myself back in 1996. In 2003 I began selling locally and started on Etsy in 2010. I love creating scents and enjoy the challenge and fulfillment of a truly great scent that myself and others can enjoy."
Brimstone & Treacle Perfume Oil $15 |
What inspires the designs/creations you make?
"History and fantasy are the really big inspirations and the real people and characters found therein. I love Ancient Britain and Ireland, Victorian England, Ancient Egypt and Rome, and other eras. I also love classic and fantasy books, and theater as inspirations. I have college degrees in history and anthropology and minors in chemistry and English literature so all that helps!"
Grimalkin Perfume Oil $15 |
What new designs/creations would you like to add to your shop in the future?
"I will always be creating new scents! Plus some fun things are in the works, but right now that is being kept a secret. :D"
Hallows Eve Halloween Sample Set #1 $15 |
The lady behind the madness. Miss Cat herself at the TeslaCON.
Deep Midnight Perfume Oils will be donating $1 from each sale during October to Saved By A Whisker Rescue. Take a look at all those sweet kitties on their Facebook page and you won't be able to resist helping.

Since it's Halloween I asked the shops to share their favorite spooky movies.
"Still love and always will love Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman! A sexy, romantic, thriller! I just have to get a copy of Mina's dress in the movie one day!"
Attack of the 31 Nights of Halloween Movie Marathon.
Follow along with us for a month full of classic and modern spooky movies. For something a little different this year we have decided to do themed weeks. Week 1 ~ Zombies, Week 2 ~ Werewolves and Vampires, Week 3 ~ Stephen King, Week 4 ~ Classic Double Features and Week 5 ~ Lounge Favorites.
On each daily post there will be a review of the next movie in our movie marathon. Leave a comment on each post with your opinion of that movie. Guess The Movie Game
This year we decided not to post the movie list in full so we can play a fun game instead. Each daily post will have a clue to the next night's movie. Leave your guess on the Rafflecopter widget, on the main Giveaway Post, for 1 entry in the giveaway. **Guesses must be posted the same day as their clue to receive the entry** Please do not post guesses anywhere else on the blog or they will be deleted and not count.
Tonight's Clue ~ Got Zombies? Just wait a month.
Week 1 ~ Zombies
Night 2 - My Boyfriend's Back
Tagline - A comedy that proves true love never dies.
Johnny would give an arm and a leg to date
Missy. Well, maybe just an arm.
Directed by Bob Balaban and released on August 6, 1993 by Touchstone Pictures (PG-13). Johnny has loved Missy is whole life. When Missy says yes to going with Johnny to the prom nothing will stop him from keeping that date. Not even being dead and buried! Ah, young love.
Long before Shaun of the Dead and Warm Bodies made Zombies funny there was My Boyfriend's Back. While it may not be the best of the Zombie comedies I still think it is well worth a watch. What makes this movie fun is that they set it against a fifties-esque style suburban setting. Everyone is happy and polite and everything seems peachy keen. And yet no one seems very surprised when Johnny comes back from the dead. Like, "oh yeah, that's the dead kid". It reminds me of the old B monster movies when aliens or some big bug would attack. No one ever seemed very taken back by it. No one ever said "What the Bleep!". But I think this attitude is what makes this film fun.
The other reason to watch is to see the "Before they were stars". You'll find Matthew Fox (Party of Five and Lost) as Missy's jock boyfriend in his first film role. Philip Seymour Hoffman (credited as just Phillip Hoffman) as Matthew Fox's little henchman. You'll also see Edward Herrmann (The Lost Boys and Gilmore Girls) and Cloris Leachman (Young Frankenstein). And, don't blink, Matthew McConaughey is briefly seen in the movie theater scene.
No trailer to be found for this one but you can rent it on Amazon, Netflix and Blockbuster.
Some trivia about the movie...
1. Matthew Fox's first film
2. Matthew McConaughey's first film.
3. While filming on location at C.D. Fulkes Middle School in Round Rock, TX, the film was titled "Johnny Zombie".
4. The marquee of the theater that Johnny and Missy go to says "Johnny Zombie", which was the original title of this movie.
5. Renée Zellweger had some lines as a customer in a beauty shop but the scene was cut.

I loved the song before the movie :) and this cutesy zombie movie was one of my all time favorites. I enjoy the prom scene although I was sad that he would go anyways. But it's a good movie :) (liking the list so far :))
ReplyDeleteI love this movie! I have to buy it or something,it's been way too long since I saw it last.
ReplyDeleteI love all the different creations in her shop - they all sound and look amazing. Gwenhwyfar (which I chose because it is where my name 'Jennifer' originates from) is a gorgeous perfume.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I missed this movie but Ive added this film to my Halloween watch list :-)
Thank you for having me on your amazing giveaway, Kris! It's the best there is! :)

I haven't seen this one. I have heard of it. Maybe I will check it out!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this one! I'll have to check it out!
ReplyDeleteHahaha...I love this movie!!! It brings back all the cheesy nostalgic humor of the early 90's. I first saw this movie on a date night with an old flame. We couldn't stop laughing at all the ridiculous one liners and moments like when Johnny Dingle's Mom dramatically throws a mustard and bologna sandwich into his open grave and yells "you must eat it all, eat all of it, you hear me!!!!" Such a silly zombie classic. :)
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen this one, but I'll add it to my list...
ReplyDeleteI have never even heard of this movie, but if it has Matthew McConaughey I think it is worth a watch!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen this one and I know I will not. Zombies should be scary and not have girlfriends.
