Halloween Playlist & Watch List 2015

"It's the most wonderful time of the year!". Yes, here at Laughing Vixen Lounge that would refer to October and the Lounge's favorite holiday, Halloween. This Vixen is happy to announce that this year our biggest and best Giveaway Event is back. The 4th annual Attack of the 14 Nights of Halloween Giveaway featuring our Halloween Movie Marathon and Murder Mystery Scavenger Hunt. While the event has been scaled back this year to only 2 weeks (vs. the entire month) we are starting the festivities early. Keep an eye out for random holiday fun before everything starts on the 18th.

It Conquered the World  (1956)

~ Halloween Playlist ~
Sit back and enjoy some holiday tunes on the Lounge Jukebox. You'll see it up there at the top of the page in black. Click the little white box on the right end of the player for a drop-down menu of songs. You can use the Fast Forward, Play, Pause and Rewind buttons on the left end of the player. And, if you would prefer to not listen, you can hit the mute on your PC/device or turn down the volume on the player (right side).
***Please Note*** This player is a bit temperamental. If you get an error code instead of the song simply skip past the song and then back to it. Sometimes it just does not load the first time. And sometimes, if there is no error code, if may just be a little slow to start.

I was a Teenage Werewolf  (1957)

~ Halloween Watch List ~
Since our Halloween Movie Marathon will only run 2 weeks this year I have put together a list of movies and TV shows to give you some ideas for holiday viewing. They are broken down into genres and are listed from oldest to newest. If the movie has a remake it is listed below the original. This will help you find all versions or the version that most appeals to you. Of course here at the Lounge we always encourage you to watch the original! Many below do have sequels (and some many sequels!!!) so do Google if you are interested in a complete list for any title.

Please comment below with your favorites. This is only a small sampling of all the great spooky fun that is out there. Share more titles with us so everyone can find something new to enjoy or something old to enjoy again. Happy viewing!

  2. Hmm, I've seen a lot of those... But I guess I'd watch Fright Night.
Also, thank you for breaking this down into genres. It's a very nice collection :)

  3. Lost Boys will always be my favorite just love that movie! The scariest for me was The Shining and Poltergeist saw those at way too young of an age at the drive in double feature , totally terrifying. I was very distrustful of twins and was scared to death of clowns ( the toy clown in the boys room ugh ) . I grew out of the twin thing but even to this day I can't handle clowns. I love American Horror Story but I could NOT EVER watch the Freaks season NO WAY! Serpent and The Rainbow was the scariest I watched when I was older though. I'm not sure if it counts as a horror movie but I really like Skeleton Key.

  4. I loved ング Ringu (Ring)(1998). The western remake The Ring (2002) was okay too...but not as terrifying as the original.

  14. OMG there are so many of my favorites on here. I love An American Werewolf in London, Poltergeist, Silver Bullet, the original Dracula, ooo and The Lost Boys. Plus Psycho (classic Hitchcock), a Nightmare on Elm Street and Alien and pretty much everything in the fun category. The original Night of the Living dead is the reason zombies still freak me out today. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw Creature of the Black Lagoon. I always tease my Mom about that movie. She was terrified when she saw it as a kid. To which I point out yeah the zipper on the creature can be pretty scary. LOL

  17. I know I'm a wimp, but I really don't like slasher, gross-out or gory... what does that leave? Spooky, creepy, atmospheric movies, especially those with a twist.
I loved The Others and Ghost Story. Others I enjoyed: The Woman in Black, The Changeling, and Session 9. The Thirteenth Tale wasn't really horror, but a good gothic story. Can't wait to see CRIMSON PEAK and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Tim Burton directs Eva Green)!

  20. While you already have Nightmare on Elm Street, I suggest Wes Craven's New Nightmare, which has the added bonus of being meta.

  21. I've seen a few of these and I second what Diana suggested with The Babadook. Also add to Slashers - The Strangers (2008) and You're Next (2011). To Zombie - Zombeavers (2014)

  22. Young Frankenstein is a masterpiece in my opinion! I loved it! You should list "Nightmare Before Christmas" by Tim Burton and "World War Z" by Marc Forster.
