Halloween Feast Perfume Sampler Set |
How did you choose your shop name?
"Deep Midnight refers to the darkest hours of the night, which is not really midnight, but rather the hours after 1 am and before dawn. I am definitely a child of the night time!"
Faerie Feast Perfume Oil |
Why did you choose to make/sell what you do?
"I have always loved perfumes since I was a child ( My fabulous Mom introduced me to quality scents at a young age), but I dislike alcohol base scents, spray perfumes and drug store and department store scents that all smell alike and give me chemical headaches. I have asthma and only used perfume oils growing up so that no aerosol chemicals could get into my lungs. I have also studied aromatherapy as part of my alternative medicine and Chinese Medicine studies and I enjoy scents that enhance moods."
Gothic Autumn Perfume Sampler Set |
What inspires the designs/creations you make?
"I love the fantasy and historical eras and also pop culture. Most of my themes come from there. I have a college degree in History and I love ancient history and the 19th century the most."
Witches Brew Perfume Oil |
What new designs/creations would you like to add to your shop in the future?
" I have already added body creams and all natural lip balms and will be adding more lip balms and of course more scents to be use din perfumes and body creams....I am always creating and dreaming of perfumes!"

Classic Thrills Through the Years ~ 1950s
Night 2 ~ Les Diaboliques
Tagline - See it, be amazed at it, but... BE QUIET ABOUT IT!
Directed by Henri-George Clouzot (The Wages of Fear and Le Corbeau - The Raven) and released on November 21, 1955 by Cinedis (Not rated). The Principal of a boarding school in France is hated by all. Specially his wife and mistress. When the two plot to get rid of him they get more than they were expecting!
Mr. Delassalle is the Principal of an all boys boarding school in France. He is mean, cruel and abusive to pretty much everyone there. His wife Christina and his mistress Nicole have had enough. Feeling that they have no other choice they come together to plan his murder. A seemingly simple enough plan turns their world into a waking nightmare that neither can wake up from.
Les Diaboliques or Diabolique (US) is a great example of an old black and white thriller. While most of us are most familiar with Hitchcock this film holds it's own alongside any of his. While the story is nothing new. Women trying to kill off the man in their life. Les Diaboliques is a very interesting telling of just such a horror. There are plenty of twists and turns and an ending that deserves to be right up there with the best. Yes, you do have to read subtitles as this is a French speaking film (that is unless your French is much better than mine!). For anyone that likes a true Thriller this will not disappoint. Even if you are not well versed in older movies do not let that stop you. Give it a try. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
But as the tagline says, Please do not give anything away!!!
Les Diaboliques is currently available to stream on Hulu (listed as Diabolique) and should be available on most DVD services.
Take a look at the original trailer.
Some trivia about the movie.
1. When director Henri-Georges Clouzot bought the film rights to the original novel, he reportedly beat Alfred Hitchcock by only a matter of hours.
2. The film is based on Pierre Boileau and Thomas Narcejac's novel "Celle qui n'était plus". Alfred Hitchcock also attempted to buy the rights to this novel; Boileau and Narcejac subsequently wrote "D'Entre les Morts" (From Among the Dead) especially for Hitchcock, who filmed it as Vertigo (1958).
3. It is believed that Henri-Georges Clouzot actually served rotten fish to Véra Clouzot in order to get a genuine reaction from her.
4. Véra Clouzot went up and down in spirits and when Henri-Georges Clouzot and Simone Signoret would begin to fight, she would "arbitrate or pour oil on troubled waters, depending on the state she was in." The three of them, not unnoticed by observers on the set, mirrored the three characters of the movie, with Henri-Georges Clouzot standing in for Michel.
