Kris from Laughing Vixen Lounge on the Walking Dead...
"The Walking Dead is just such a wonderful example of great writing and great character development. The Zombies and blood and guts are all secondary. To me the best part is how pulled into the characters and the story you get. I've always found it fascinating, and frightening, to see how people react when put in the "end of the world" scenario."
"I will go on and on about how great the movie "The Mist" is, to anyone who will listen, for the exact same reasons. So when I realized that Frank Darabont, who directed The Mist, created this TV adaptation of The Walking Dead it made perfect sense. The man is a genius at this subject matter!"
"As for my favorite character that's a hard choice. As most people are I'm a big fan of Daryl but I equally love Rick. Both are flawed and imperfect men trying their best to do the right thing in a chaotic world. And then there was Merle or Stumpy as I fondly call him. It was amazing how a truly unlikeable character could become so interesting to watch. I would have liked to see how his character would have continued to become part of the group. But his death scene did make for one of the best episodes."

Cat from Deep Midnight Perfume Oils on why she loves the Walking Dead...
"I love the Walking Dead because it's the most realistic, scariest, post-apocalyptic zombie drama that I have ever come across. There are a lot of zombie movies out there (and I have seen a lot)and some are really good B flicks, some are terribly cheesy, and some just plain epic fail. But Walking Dead REALLY frightens, really causes tension and since it's a series, it really wraps you up in the characters' lives and personalities (through some mini character studies). Not only is it a zombie apocalypse (walkers vs. humans) but it's also a great study in people vs. people and who will do what to survive and control what little is left of humanity. It's a fantastic horror/drama show. Great actors, great writers...it's the whole package. I really enjoy every episode!"
"My favorite character is Daryl Dixon (cute bad guy turned the most realistic thinking and efficient good guy). I'd have to say my favorite episode was when they group realized Shane turned right after he died and that you did not have to be bitten or attacked...that anyone who died would turn no matter what....
