Welcome to another Fear Friday at the Laughing Vixen Lounge. I think I've found a little know gem for you to check out. But first some news about a couple upcoming giveaways!
This Halloween season will be a busy one here at the Lounge. There will be lots of fun giveaways with plenty of chances for you to win some great goodies from the shop.
Of course the big one will be our 2nd annual Attack of the 31 Nights of Halloween Giveaway. So far there are 11 shops signed up to donate prizes. The movie list is being fine tuned and the review posts written. Plus, this time we will be using Rafflecopter to make entering the giveaway easier and quicker. Yay! Stay tuned for more updates.
Then, starting tomorrow or the next day, Laughing Vixen Lounge will be part of the blog hop at Rats and More . You'll have a chance to win your choice of compact mirror/pill box and small round silver pendant. Plus more prizes from other shops! I'll post the link as soon as it's live.
Next we will have a giveaway here as part of the "Spooktacular Giveaway Hop". October 1st - 15th. You'll again have a chance to win a compact mirror/pill box and small round silver pendant of your choice.
Then at the end of October there will be a giveaway here as part of the "Wicked After Dark" Giveaway. And we'll be part of the blog hop over at our friend Debra's blog "Strange Daze Indeed". Lots of chances to win! Links will be posted as they approach. Keep your eyes open ;)
Fridays at the Laughing Vixen Lounge Blog are Fear Fridays where we review a different horror/scary/thriller/classic horror movie.
Fear Friday - The Hole
Tagline - Once you get in, you can't get out.
Desperate To Get In. Dying To Get Out.
School is out, Terror has begun.
Directed by Nick Hamm (Godsend) and released on April 20, 2001 by Impact Pictures (Rated R). Four teenagers, at a British private school, decide to skip the school field trip and spend the weekend in an old abandoned war bunker. Hmmmmm... that sounds like... fun? But what happens when their friend does not return to unlock the door and let them out? Ooops!
I watched this movie earlier this year on Netflix. It started out and before long I thought I had it all figured out. Ha! Not so quickly! This movie was a real surprise. I found it interesting to watch the story unfold through a series of flashbacks. But be careful. Not all is as it first appears.
Not real gory or frightening but creepy and fun to follow. It was a straight to DVD here in the states but opened in the theater in other countries. Go find it and give it a try. Let me know what you thought.
Take a look at the original trailer.
Some trivia about the movie...
1. The first significant film role for Keira Knightley.
2. Thora Birch was paid a highly publicized seven-figure salary, due to her recent acclaimed appearance in American Beauty.
3. Guy Burt wrote the novel the film is based upon at the age of 18, not long after he left school.
4. Nick Hamm wanted to make the film seven years before he actually did.
