Today's Wayback Wednesday is a little retro Easter fun. One of the best commercials ever made is this great M&Ms commercial from the 80's. I wish they still played it. The kids at the end are priceless!
And here's the little treat you'll receive in your Laughing Vixen Lounge package this season or until I run out. A little package of Bunny Tails. Or as I like to call them Bunny Butts. Mmmmmm... marshmallows 8)

Manic Monday - There Be Fairies!
Welcome to another Manic Monday here on the Laughing Vixen Lounge blog. Today is a sneak peak at some new Fairy Door designs.
Just got these Fairy Door pendants in. They are so cute and their doors really open! Write your wish on a piece of paper and lock it inside. Let the Fairies work their magic.
Here's a look at the pendants that will be listed soon. Just waiting for the label paper to arrive so the Fairy Dust bottles can have a fun little label on them. Will have lots more colors of dust and other Fairy style charms too.
So much fun coming in the next months to the shop. And a few new giveaways coming for April and May. Stay tuned for more info 8)

Fear Friday - A Little Something Different
This week's Fear Friday is a replay of one of the early Fear Friday selections. You'll notice the review is in a different format than now. The movie choice was posted on Monday along with a standard 5 questions to answer about the movie. Then on Friday the review was posted along with this Vixen's answers to the questions. Everyone was encourage to watch the movie and leave their answers and thoughts to the questions. It's kinda fun and I'm thinking of offering one movie selection a month this way. Let me know what you think!
Come on in all you Hep Dolls and Ghoulish Gals for another Fear Friday. Every Friday The Lounge will offer up a movie for your enjoyment. The movies will be a wide variety from the horror genre. From vintage to classic to slasher to thriller to the just plain cheesy. So get the popcorn popped, kill the lights and get ready for a little fright. This weeks selection...
Tagline - Everyone is dying to be with her. Someone is
killing for it.
It's the kind of party where everyone gets
wasted.
This Summer Love Kills
Directed by Jonathan Levine (The Wackness and 50/50) and released in 2006 by Occupant Films (Rated R).
While this movie was a little slower pace and not a huge gore factor (compared to most of today's movies) I found it creepy and suspenseful in it's simplicity. The look and feel of the movie is the real winner here. Set in the middle of nowheresville Texas our teens spend the night in an old southern styled mansion that looks so out of place in the desolate landscape. The movie had a slight worn and occasionally blurred look to it that added to the feel.
There were plenty of things here that lend to a fun horror film. Signs that say "Last gas for 150 miles", lonely back roads, excessive drug use, lots of cat fights, alcohol, sex, firearms, bodies strategically placed for final scene and a nice big twist at the end. All in all I enjoyed it.
6. A little girl died in the upstairs bedroom in the ranch house after asphyxiating. Locals claim she still haunts the house. It is claimed a little girl in a white dress was seen several times in the ranch house during night shoots, even though there were never any children on set.

- Did this movie make you jump, yawn or laugh? There was a little jump and a little laugh. While it was a bit slower pace it was an interesting watch with a little cheese factor for laughs.
- Did you like or dislike the monster/villain? I didn't find him all that interesting until the twist came then the Villains become more interesting to watch.
- If you were one of the characters in the movie which one would you be? I would really hope I was none of these characters. They were really an unlikable bunch but I guess that's why we don't mind seeing them disappear one by one.
- If the monster/villain could have had one superpower what should it have been? One of our villains seemed to already have superpowers. They ran super fast and had the power to charm their victims. What more do you need?
- What was the best line or scene in the movie? Best line...While everyone is sitting in the living room not really bothered by the fact that two of their friends have gone missing, Chloe has a sudden over the top outburst regarding one of them. "He's drunk and he's in a truck and he's got a gun. OK, that's bad!" Well said Chloe.
Take a look at the original trailer (beware spoilers)...
Some trivia about the movie...
1. The main ranch house in the film used to belong to Hilary Duff's family.
2. Hilary Duff memorabilia from Casper Meets Wendy was found by the crew during principal photography.
3. Fire ants were an enormous problem for the cast and crew during the shoot.
4. Local legend has it that John Wilkes Booth evaded capture in Virginia after his assassination of Abraham Lincoln and was the caretaker on the ranch property. He told the property owners his true identity as he was dying. They buried him in an unmarked grave next to the oak tree which Mandy Lane walks by to see Garth.
5. The Ranch used for shooting had a cemetery with over 60 graves from the 1800s next to the house. The graves were from a town, which no longer exists.

Wayback Wednesday - Get Ready For Easter
It's Wayback Wednesday and we're going to take a little trip down Easter lane. Couldn't find the old picture I had in mind but this one's good for a laugh!
This great old slide is circa early 70's. Easter morning after the annual hunt for the baskets (and we still do it). That would be my brother, sister and me on my mom's lap. Look closely at my sister and you might be able to notice her groovy head-gear. Ha! Can you believe that's what you used to have to wear instead of just braces? 8)
Stop by Laughing Vixen Lounge at check out our Easter goodies. There's still time to get them for your Easter outfit.

Fear Friday - The Saturday St. Patrick's Day Edition
Fridays at Laughing Vixen Lounge Blog are Fear Fridays where we review a different horror/scary/thriller/classic horror movie. Tonight's Fear Friday is on Saturday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. So wear your green, have a some spirits and have a laugh at tonight's movie.
Fear Friday - Leprechaun
Tagline - Your luck just ran out
Directed by Mark Jones and released on January 8, 1993 by Trimark Pictures (rated R). Someone steals the little guy's gold and he's not happy about it. After 10 years of being locked in a basement the Leprechaun is freed and ready to get revenge. And his gold back!
OK, so this is a silly romp but never the less fun for the holiday. Hard to believe this one spawned five sequels. That Leprechaun went to the hood, to space and back to the hood again! Oh my! I must admit I've only seen the first one and that's enough for me.
If you like your horror with a slice of cheese, or a few (green) beers, this can be a fun watch. Or if you're a fan of Jennifer Aniston this was her first movie.
Happy St. Patrick's Day and don't take any pots of gold! 8)
Take a look at the original trailer...
2. According to Warwick Davis, the movie was originally planned as a scary kids' film, but the studio thought it would work better as a more adult horror, so inserts were filmed to ramp-up the gore-factor.

Wayback Wednesday - An old favorite and a New Giveaway!
Today's Wayback Wednesday is a little movie treat for you. Make sure to stick around after for our latest giveaway!
Last night I was looking through Netflix for something to watch and I stumbled upon a movie that I hadn't seen in years. I was 11 when Raiders of the Lost Ark came out and I was a huge fan. To capitalize on the success of the movie television put out two shows that had a similar feel. One was "Tales of the Gold Monkey" and I loved it. It was the greatest thing at the time though, as an adult, I can now openly admit that it was a pretty bad show 8)
The star was Stephen Collins (Star Trek The Movie and 7th Heaven) and I just loved him. He's still a favorite of mine. I always remembered this movie I had watched on TV back then that he was in called "The Promise". It stuck with me for years until I found it again about ten years back and watched it again. So when I found it last night I couldn't resist watching it yet again.
It's a nice sappy love story, based on a Danielle Steel novel, of two people pulled apart by tragedy and destined to find each other again. This isn't new territory. You've seen it before but it's still a fun watch if you like romantic movies. And if you're a fan of Mr. Collins he's so young and cute in this one. If you have Netflix (or something similar) give it a try.
